Customers’ Reviews of ARP Services
You won’t find a more committed, friendly, and capable group of solar installers…
Gary Easton/ARP Solar has installed two solar arrays for us in 2018 and 2023. The initial site visits and subsequent contract write-ups were low-pressure, what-can-we do-for-you kind of affairs. Both systems were installed by some of the friendliest, hard working and professional folks you’ll ever meet. They took the extra time to neatly route conduit, install squirrel guards, and add electric vehicle charger outlets so we can fill up our Kia Soul EV “from the sun.” ARP’s office crew were very helpful in setting up interconnection/net-metering agreements, behind-the-scenes performance monitoring, and even ensured we could claim Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) from the highest bidder. As Ohio Solar United Neighbor members, we have become local solar ambassadors and if a neighbor asks a solar panel question we can’t answer, ARP is always there for us with the response. Gary even helped me respond to a young neighbor who was asking what solar-industry-related classes to take in school! Bottom line: To a person, you won’t find a more committed, friendly, and capable group of solar installers.

ARP people treat seniors right…
These people treat seniors right. We strongly recommend ARP to those – including seniors – who are interested in adding solar panels to their home. We very much appreciate their kind, unhurried, personable manner when explaining options and what to expect, and their professionalism during the actual installation and continued good communication afterwards. Our neighbors across the street, who recommended ARP to us, are also very satisfied with their ARP installed system.

Having Gary, the owner of the company, on site, doing the sight survey and being available and willing to make last minute changes was invaluable…
After contacting the larger solar installers in the area I decided to go with ARP and could not have been happier. Not only were they able to give me a quote in a timely manner. ARP augmented the original system for future expansion, possible battery backup and generator tie-in, something other installers said they would not or could not do. I felt that having Gary, the owner of the company, on site, doing the sight survey and having him available and willing to make last minute changes was invaluable. The installation only took two and half days and my wife and I could not be happier. Knowing that I can contact Gary if any problems arise or if I need a question answered is a great peace of mind that cannot be bought.
I had a good experience and appreciate their very prompt responses…
I had a good experience and appreciate their very prompt responses. Gary showed me a few different options with the likely stats, which made choosing easy. He set me up with solar Edge monitoring so I can see how much is being generated. It went down a while back, I called Gary and he got it reset right away. No data loss. I have not done my taxes yet so I can’t comment on ARP’s support in that. I’m sure they will help if asked. No fault to ARP but I expected more credits on unused energy than happened the first summer. If I stay in the house I might add on more panels.
Gary was great to work with and they were able to install the system very quickly and efficiently…
ARP installed solar panels on the roof of my home back in 2012. They did a wonderful job and we have benefitted from all of the power generated. Gary was great to work with and they were able to install the system very quickly and efficiently. I also liked hiring a local company to do the work. I highly recommend ARP if you are considering a solar installation.
Better than 5 stars !!! Fantastic folks to work with…
Fantastic folks to work with. I’ve had my system since 2014 and it has worked flawlessly. It is a 9kWp unit and meets my needs with no electricity needs during summer. If I could get the same during winter I would go off the grid! Too bad they don’t do wind or Tesla Powerwall. I needed remote monitoring to report production to AEP, and although they had never done that before they figured out how to do it with EKM meters and that has been great as well. Both Gary and Helene are great to work with. Better than 5 stars !!!
The project was finished on time and on budget and the quality of their work is excellent…
We had an agrivoltaics project in Cincinnati. Mike and Connor showed up on time even though they had to drive a long distance to get to us. They were both extremely professional and answered all questions before starting the project. The project was finished on time and on budget and the quality of their work is excellent. We will definitely work with them again for any similar future projects.

We recommend ARP without reservation – a strong and responsive company…
We live in a rural area where the only available utility is electricity, so we heat our home with two air-source heat pumps. In 2019 my wife and I took the plunge and decided to add solar to our home to reduce our electric bills. Ours is a 40 panel ground based system and was installed by Appalachian Renewable Power in February of 2020. The installation was completed by their crew in just two days and has been one of the best investments we have ever made, reducing our annual utility expenditure by at least 80%. We can recommend ARP without reservation – a strong and responsive company.

I was very pleased with the whole experience and I can recommend them highly to anyone considering a solar system…
I put quite a bit of time into researching solar installation companies and got bids from 3 different suppliers. Appalachian had a very competitive bid so I went to see three installations that they had done. Their work looked good, and previous customers were very pleased with their work so I went ahead with Appalachian. I was not disappointed. They did an excellent job. The installation itself took about half a day, and when they left, I was generating power. I am someone that asks a lot of questions and Gary, the owner of Appalachian, was very patient with me, and answered all my questions very thoroughly. Appalachian has been in the business for a long time, so they have a lot of experience with all the details involved with getting a system installed and permitted. Appalachian also handled all the details of applying for permits and getting the net metering set up. Overall I was very pleased with the whole experience and I can recommend them highly to anyone considering a solar system.
We are grateful for the attention and care we received and are ecstatic about the way our system is operating…
We got our solar installed by ARP in December of 2022. We got off to a rough start; our system didn’t initially pass inspection, but the ARP technician on site (Jesse G.) located a replacement part and installed it the same day as the inspection to get us online. Two months later, our system went offline due to an inverter issue. ARP sent Jesse G our way again and he not only resolved the problem, but also gave me his direct contact information in case I had any questions or concerns (which I did) and returned all my queries in a professional and timely manner. He was extremely responsive and acted as a liaison between myself and SolarEdge to best resolve the issue. I couldn’t be more grateful for the service he alone provided in resolving these unanticipated problems and single handedly getting us up and running again. Jesse G is a huge asset to this company. We are grateful for the attention and care we received and are ecstatic about the way our system is operating. Thank you ARP!
They had the best price per panel in comparison to everyone else…
We used ARP Solar. They had the best price per panel in comparison to everyone else. They didn’t offer a low loan rate like a lot of other providers did. Most will jack up the price of a panel and inverter but offer a lower interest rate. I made a spreadsheet and let the math make a determination. The loans are what seem the most scammy but please talk to at least 4-5 different providers to see who will give you the best deal. There were a lot of pricing differences. Price per panel installed I paid was about $1200.
I want to thank you and the entire ARP Solar team for your help and patience in bringing everything together.
I just received the “Permission to Operate” notification for our expanded system, plus confirmation of net metering, from AEP, and I see that the new panels are producing electricity. Woohoo! I want to thank you and the entire ARP Solar team for your help and patience in bringing everything together. I know that squeezing in a little more capacity for the system took some creativity, but you all came through again. It’s been a long road on our electrification journey, and having solar has been a big part of the plan. Thanks again for helping us to make it happen!
Best design, most knowledgeable about the products in the industry, fastest response time to questions, best references, and yes, the best price…
I saw a huge difference in the various installers out there. ARPSolar is EXCELLENT. I looked seriously at four different providers and Gary Easton at ARP Solar was by far the best; best design, most knowledgeable about the products in the industry and the industry in general, fastest response time to questions, best references, and yes, the best price. His installation team was very pleasant to work with and top notch. They even re-stacked my firewood next to where they installed one of the disconnect boxes. I can’t wait to tell everyone in my network about them. The only issues I really had all were dealing with Duke Energy and getting the bi-directional meter in. My last Duke energy bill was $5.36 for November. I still need to find a way to keep the snow and ice off the panels and to clear out these clouds! I can’t wait to see my production numbers this coming spring and summer!
To a person, the crew were smart, friendly, and hardworking and we have not had a single issue with ARP’s workmanship or the equipment…
Gary Easton’s crew with ARP added nine LG320 panels, a SolarEdge 3000 watt inverter, on our garage as well as a 240 volt EV charger circuit. It was a more complex project than most as we asked him to integrate this solar installation with our existing 14 SunPower panels and SMA Sunnyboy inverter mounted on our house, and oh by the way push it through an existing utility-grade meter we use for claiming SRECs. The trench from the detached garage went past the site of an old elm tree and you never saw a team work so hard to make the inspector happy with the trench depth. To a person, the crew were smart, friendly, and hardworking and we have not had a single issue with ARP’s workmanship or the equipment. We highly recommend this company!
The installation was flawless, by the friendliest crew you could imagine…
Fast approaching the 2nd anniversary for my installation. Could not be happier! The installation was flawless, by the friendliest crew you could imagine. Receiving AEP bills is no longer painful, with zero due 7 or 8 months a year in a total electric home. Bad cell/WiFi service has resulted in the need for some follow-up regarding the monitoring system, but assistance has been very prompt. Gary, Don, and everyone else at ARP are topnotch.

The process from start to finish went smoothly and the end product is excellent…
ARP installed a 10kW array at my home in Washington County, Ohio. The process from start to finish went smoothly and the end product is excellent. Everyone I have interacted with at ARP has been friendly, helpful and professional. If you are looking into installing a solar power system, you will be hard pressed to beat ARP. As a side note, I received estimates from five solar companies. Four of them were within a couple hundred dollars – one was very high. ARP’s quoted price was actually the lowest. That was not the deciding factor, but it didn’t hurt either!
Very, very happy with ARP; friendly office and support staff, answered all my questions…
Very, very happy with ARP; friendly office and support staff, answered all my questions. They are the crew to go to for solar! Guys on the ‘rooftops’ were careful and also helpful with questions answered as well. They showed up on time every time, even though my site was 4 hours away! Really enjoying seeing the sun come up knowing I’ll be benefitting my planet and my pocket as well. Sunlight’s FREE for everyone…let’s embrace it and take the plunge!
Continually helpful and responsive in helping us to estimate requirements and refine ARP’s proposal to meet our needs…
Gary and the entire team were knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated to ensuring that we were happy with the proposal, installation, and operation of the system. Gary was continually helpful and responsive in helping us to estimate requirements and refine ARP’s proposal to meet our needs. The installation team worked hard but took time to explain what they were doing and answer any questions. They even changed the location of some cabling to better fit the aesthetics of our house. Finally, APR took care of all permits and setting up the needed arrangements with our utility provider (AEP). We feel confident recommending ARP.
